UTILITY VEGETATION MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
UVM PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Utility Arborist Association and Utility Vegetation Management Association have developed the Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) Professional Development Program (PDP) certification, which includes a college-level training program for middle managers and leaders in utility vegetation management and an industry-recognized professional credential.
This comprehensive training program is designed and facilitated by industry professionals, who will lead you through the knowledge and skills needed to plan and manage sustainable UVM programs. Courses are designed to enhance the understanding and application of our industry’s best practices including safety, integrated vegetation management, environmental stewardship, and sustainability. This program is a pathway for career development and advancement.
The UVM PDP Board of Governors has partnered with the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point College of Natural Resources, Forestry Education and Development Initiative to deliver this program. Completion of the certificate program is the primary prerequisite to being recognized by the industry as a Certified Utility Vegetation Management Professional. Through the UVM PDP Board of Governors operations and oversight, the UAA will be the issuing and governing body for this newly developed Professional Credential.
